    Color Swatch Journal

Today we at Some Odd Girl we are kicking off a new Monthly Challenge, its all about getting your markers, pencils, paints or whatever you use to color and to experiment using our Color Prompts each month. You can get all the details over at our blog blog and the first color prompt today. To keep track of all my color combos I created my own Color Swatch Journal. You’ve seen the cover but I’d like to share the inside with you. Its pristine, minus this month’s combo, so its undecorated but I’m sure that will change. I’m sorting my combos by color and created punched dividers in each color.…

We had talked in the group about how fun it would be so dang it, let’s do it! We’ll have all the details next week Wednesday but I thought to give you the heads up with 3 great examples so you can be ready to go. I’ve gathered my bits for my journal, which I’ll be sharing next week when its put together. These 3 are different takes on a Coloring Journal, they all use Copics but you obviously don’t have to. Debbie Olson Debbie taught all…

    Honeycrisp Apple Card and Frame

Yesterday was my best friend, Leah’s, birthday and this Apple Card and Frame is what I sent her as a gift.  The frame is meant as a reminder that I’ll always be here for her, there’s a story behind the pic but that’s between her and me 😉 The card was made to coordinate with the frame, Honeycrisp apples are her absolute FAV so I thought the Apple stamp, from the Fruit Salad stamp set by Some Odd Girl stamps, would be the perfect fit. I colored the Apple up to look like a honeycrisp using Copic Markers (Y02, Y35, R05, R12, R14, 0, YG63, YG67, E74) then put it on…

Tried my hand at No Lines Coloring

I made a Gif out of it lol I thought that was the easiest way to get all the pics into this post as there was 8 from start to finish.  All in all it took me about 3 hours to do it. I wish I had done it not sitting on my couch as the light is horrible and I think that slowed me down a bit. I was taking pics on Instagram as I went along and I found it fun to see the progress. 2 things got to me during this… 1) my E11 needs a new tip, its gunky. *shakes fist at E11* 2) This does…

    marker swatch template

Today I’ve got a fun little goodie for you! I was talking with one of the students on the Created from Color class forum and she showed how she likes to do the swatches for her markers and they totally reminded me of the paint chips I horde from Lowes (I WILL come up with something someday I swear it!) which reminded me of the OTHER paint chips at lowes that have the hole in them for better paint matching/coordinating and my brain smished them together in to what I have for you today! For my birthday I got myself some new programs that helped me make this PDF download.…

    Angel Gwen!

Good morning! Today we’re sharing the new set Angel Gwen, the girl on the Some Odd Girl Blog has a TON of inspiration you’ll want to see. For me I wanted to go really light with pale colors. Kind of play on the puffy clouds you think of when you think of angels… or at least I do. The card was so CAS that I decided to bow out the sentiment banner a smidge too just for some dimension, subtle but adds interest.  On this card I used papers from MME and embossed the background CS with my cuttlebug. The ink I used to stamp Gwen and the sentiment is…
