    Drink Recipe Book

Today I’m with you sharing a bit or inspiration you can easily make as a hostess gift or just for yourself. This lil’ drink recipe book can keep all your fancy drink recipes right handy, or fill it up for your hostess as a welcome gift. I created a small book, measuring at just 5.75″ x 4.25″, using some layered pattern paper, washi and letter stickers. Binding it was as simple as punching 3 holes, threading my twine thru and tying it closed. With this method it would be a breeze to add more pages.  Cheers Kaylee (digi stamp) is colored to go with my color scheme, her drink being a…

Its almost the end of this term at Some Odd Girl and to celebrate the wonderful term with some fabulous girls we are having a hop featuring everyone’s 3 favorite projects from the term. Each stop will have a digi from one of those creations to give away and a big prize on the Some Odd Girl blog. Its also where you’ll find our full hop list, just sayin. Before I show you my 3 fav projects from the term I have to say that spending the last year with these girls has been amazing! We’ve been like a family, ups & downs, not seeing eye to eye, sharing secrets, celebrating…

    Honeycrisp Apple Card and Frame

Yesterday was my best friend, Leah’s, birthday and this Apple Card and Frame is what I sent her as a gift.  The frame is meant as a reminder that I’ll always be here for her, there’s a story behind the pic but that’s between her and me 😉 The card was made to coordinate with the frame, Honeycrisp apples are her absolute FAV so I thought the Apple stamp, from the Fruit Salad stamp set by Some Odd Girl stamps, would be the perfect fit. I colored the Apple up to look like a honeycrisp using Copic Markers (Y02, Y35, R05, R12, R14, 0, YG63, YG67, E74) then put it on…

    Teacher’s Gift

My Dude graduated Preschool last night and is on his way to kindergarten in the fall! YAY! I totally forgot yesterday was the last day for him and needed something to make as a teacher’s gift as she went out of her way to help him and turn it around. I found something similar to what I ended up doing using fridge alphabet magnents but apparently no one has those anymore (went to 6 stores). So I had a duh moment and switched it up to colored pencils! I got a rectangular vase (a cylinder would work too, I got the flat sided when I thought I could find the…

    New Week New Class :)

Welcome to the week peeps! Its 2pm and I finally feel awake though I need to get some lunch. Still have the cold but trying to knock it out. We’ll see 🙂 The pics above are from my workbook for Indie Biz 3.0, a class I’m taking that starts tomorrow. The big Kaylee head is from the 52 Week Project pic I took for Some Odd Girl’s one year anny. She had been chillin above our whiteboard and now resides on my notebook. I’ve already met some amazing people thru the student lounge and twitter and hope to get to know them better as the course goes on. You can…

    Yay for Monday!

I think while not at 100% that I am finally feeling well enough to be a functioning member of society! YAY! It only took a whole WEEK to make it happen. I feel behind but as part of my New Year’s resolution (yup early) I am getting organized! So prior to sick I made myself a organizational board for things To-Do and the days of the week. You know I’m not very good at altering things so I think this turned out purty well 🙂 I started out with this 7 Gypsies Receipt Holder and spray painted it. The speckles in the coat of paint (which I love now but…

    I’ve been naughty…

In more ways than one really. I haven’t posted AND…. well you’ll see that soon enough LOL! Things here have really hit the fan but luckily its not blowing in my direction right now! YAY! My boss was forced to be demoted. She basically wasn’t doing her job. Long story short she has been transferred and I now have to do HER’s AND MY JOBS until they hire someone. Bleh. Tired! I worked until Tuesday at 3:30am (from 6pm Monday night) then was back in this morning at 5am. I have tomorrow off, then will be back Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Did I mention 6 days for me next…

I finally got to use my “Clearly Heavy Overlays” by Hambly! WOOT! I bought a sheet with no really idea in mind but it was Hambly and I LOVE THEM!!! I still have half a sheet left from making a set of ATC cards for Artistic Papercrafting on CM. I think the alcohol inks did a great job making the sky look….. um, well….. like sky. I didn’t have a good way to state that LOL!!! This is my first use of alcohol inks. I couldn’t believe how fast it dried and started out putting on my craft mat and dotting it on but when it kept drying up I…

    B&C

I just wanted to jump on and share the next two cards with you all 🙂 The prompt for B was “Because.” There is alot of layers on this card. It was kinda inspired by what Rachel had said about journaling the negatives then layering the positives. I put more than a few layers of paint, who knows what colors any more LOL, and then while it was still damp I used my AC rub-on stick to “write” the letters in the clay like paint. For this one, “C,” the prompt was “Clearly.” I searched all over for something I liked when I remembered I had SHRINKY DINKS! HA! This…
