I’m an epic fail at today. I spend one day off and look, brain goes boom. *shakes head*

Tonight at 8pm EST I’ll be coloring a bunch of furry kittys from the Clever Kittys Clear Stamp set by Some Odd Girl on the Wednesday LIVE Color Along on Ustream. I’m going to shoot for 2-3 kittys but we’ll see how we do.

Today’s LIVE Color Along is featuring the Clear Stamp Balloon Kaylee from Some Odd Girl!

I realized I hadn’t colored her in a good while and she had some fun things to offer, especially if her balloon were clear, so that’s what’s on the docket for today at 1pm EST (or is it EDT since we had daylight savings?).

After our last big snow, I went and walked around the yard as the trees and bushes with their small bare branches and the pines drooping with the heavy slush were just SO pretty. I’m not typically a snow person but there is a charm to a white and black sparkly world that happens after a storm and the sun comes back out.

The weird thing I noticed, and yup, call me an art nerd, but that where the snow was piling up on the branches, trunks and needles would be the same areas you would add highlights too in your coloring.

This is an awesome example…

So while this might end up being the weirdest way I’ve told you about looking at lighting its pretty neat! I’ve got 9 pictures you can look at closer. Notice on the bushes that the areas that are further under the umbrella of the branches have less snow and the ones at the middle none or almost none… just like you would want if you were coloring them.

this proves that snow has more purposes than snowmen and hot cocoa ;)

Our theme for this Party is Up in the Clouds. Some Odd Girl released 2 new Clear Stamp sets with some fun clouds this week so it was the perfect theme for the hop. I used stamps from Happy Day and Umbrella Gwen on my layout.

I wanted my clouds to match the chartreuse color on the camera paper but alas I didn’t have the right color. I ended up double stamping all my clouds with Dandelion and Pear Tart Memento and it matched AWESOME! The stamps being clear made it easy to line up.

I’m an avid cloud watcher and sunset picture taker and it was a great time to get some of my fav instagram pics on to a layout, hence the title Instasky. 

The next stop on the hop is Anna Sigga! She’s just too fab so I can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Tonight is our Wednesday LIVE Color Along on UStream where I’ll be coloring the digital stamp Peacock Kaylee at 8pm EST.

This is going to be quite the adventure tonight as she’s got a ton of detail and colors. I put together a little stock photo collage to reference when coloring tonight, it should be pretty helpful

Love peacocks! We used to camp at a park when I was really little called aptly Peacock Park. Random story time lol

Happy Monday!

Today is a new release day at Some Odd Girl! I’m trying to force Spring again with a Spring themed release. Spring Showers, clouds, sun rays and cute critters are all apart of this release. 

I had started on videos to go along with each of the releases this week but it was on my schedule to finish them last week when my sick went down. *fail* I do have one for Wednesday’s Clever Kitty’s ready, we’ll see about finishing up the other 2. 

This card has papers from Crate and Studio Calico and an Amy Tan scrap for the sentiment which is stamped with Danube Blue. The tag is a plain ol manilla shipping tag from Office Max that I stamped the clouds from Umbrella Gwen with Grey Flannel Memento and colored with Copics (B39, B69, B66, B63, B60, Y000, Y02, Y17, YR14) then the stars are from Freckled Fawn.

Even being sick as “a rat… a rat who ate too much cheese” like my son said when he had this stomach thing first I still managed to get 3 sketches this week. 

Barely.

On Sunday I made myself my schedule for the week and Monday – Wednesday were completely lost and yesterday I spent doing something (slowly doing something I might add) that needed to be mailed asap.

So here I am today.

Let’s see how much of that list I can get done! Its a personal challenge I’m not 100% but better to try than not.
