HAPPY 2014!!! I hope you had fun staying up and ringing in the new year πŸ™‚ Today at Some Odd Girl, we are kicking off our new January Challenge with is to incorporate a tag into your project, some way, some how. Pretty easy eh? For my card, I used the clear stamp Crushin Gwen, colored up with Copic Markers, then the sentiment is from the Clear Stamp set Everyday Smiles. Papers are Crate and Pebbles with a bit of washi tape for the yellow. Welp, I have a lot to finish up before we leave for CHA on Tuesday. Watch my Instagram and here especially for updates. I think…

Come Chill with the November Challenge @ Some Odd Girl: Speech Bubbles

ACK its November already! This whole year is a big blur. At least November means a new challenge over at Some Odd Girl. This month we are asking you to use Speech Bubbles on your project. It could be hand cut, stamped, machine cut, wood, plastic, etc etc etc as long as you have a speech bubble and a Some Odd Girl image, stamp, digi, or cut file on your project you can link up! For my project I used the Polar Bear and sentiment from Winter Friends then gave him some glasses from the Preppy Pups Clear Stamp set and then stamped my sentiment on a speech bubble. This…

    March Sketch Challenge

Its March Challenge time at the Some Odd Girl blog! We’ve got a simple sketch that you can have a lot of fun playing with. I decided to do a simple small sized card, its 3.25″ x 3.5″, and used the Mushrooms and sentiment from the Hey Kaylee Clear Stamp set and cut out the mushes with the coordinating cut file. Β Β  I got to use something I got for christmas from my hubs on this card too. Target had a pair of scissor that they called the original paper shredder/confetti maker which is a lot like those Martha Stewart multi blade fringe scissors, less than half the price though!…

    Nouveau Inspired Challenge

The challenge this time around at Some Odd Girl goes right along with our new release asking you to take inspiration from the artist who inspired the Art Nouveau movement, my fav of all time artist, Alphonse Mucha! Specifically his piece, Thistle in the Sands. I find his line work, flow and feel just amazing while having a graphic quality that appeals to me πŸ™‚ ANYWAYS lol. You might be inspired by the colors or some of the elements or anything else but be inspired and create! That’s what I did and here’s what I came up with… I was inspired by the colors and the circular motif which I…

    Pieces of Paper

This go at the Some Odd Girl blog, the challenge we are having is paper piecing! I have seen some amazing examples of this around blogland and couldn’t help but have the team give it a go for the challenge πŸ™‚ For my card I paper pieced Moooey with a base of Sassafras (from the Mix and Mend line), Cosmo Cricket (the brown wood grain) and Pink Paisley (the pink nose and udder). Stamping him with brown Memento. I gave him a little shading with my copics and white pen. I didn’t want to over do and hide the patterns in the papers. πŸ™‚ For the card itself I used…

I hope you likey πŸ™‚ I used Mooey and colored him as a ginger. I thought he’d make a cute red-spotted cow. I paired him up with the pattern paper from Studio Calico (how flippin PERFECT eh?) and the edge strip from Sassafras. I stamped the sentiment with Blue China Distress Ink and Moooey was stamped with Brown Memento. Β I entered it into a PaperCrafts color challenge but never posted it here,…
