    New Digi Stamp, Pearl Mermaid

YAY! Today is new Digi Stamp Release Day at Some Odd Girl and here is my card for the occasion, with Pearl Mermaid. I spent a LOT of time coloring her up for the website so when I went to make the card to go with it none of the patterned paper I had seemed to “work”. I ended up deciding to go very CAS and let that coloring work stand mostly alone. The patterned paper I did end up using, along with the sequins, goes with how I colored her scales and pearl she’s holding. Simple yet effective I think. My card might be CAS but you NEED to…

    Meet Meadow Tia

Hey cardmaking homies, today we have a new Digi Stamp at Some Odd Girl, Meadow Tia! Yesterday was my son’s 8th birthday (I feel OLD) and that was my normal crafty day but woke up this morning and busted this card out! You peeps who can make a card in under a hour get big props from me! I already had Tia colored and just had to do the background but dang, I felt pretty sloooooow, it took me closer to a hour and a half. I used papers from Crate Paper’s Journey 6×6, enamel dots from Studio Calico and sentiment stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle from the Cookies n…

    Best Friends Card

Happy Monday everyone! On the Some Odd Girl blog I have my first card Process Video up for Movie Monday for my Best Friends card using the Digi Stamp, Girlfriends Kaylee & Mae, which also includes my coloring of the image. I’ve been asked to do a card process video before and I’ve always been afraid of it since 9 times out of 10 I go in with no plan, but decided to give it a go. I think I need to move the camera back a bit and maybe have some basics set up ahead (?) but not too shabby overall.    Copic Colors: Kaylee Skin – E000, E00, E04,…

    50s Mae Inspiration

Last week on the Some Odd Girl blog I had the fun of bringing you a little inspiration to your Thursday. I couldn’t just share my 50s Mae Digi Stamp card there and not here too! I gave it a few days to breathe and viola! You can read a bit more on my thought process on the Inspiration post but I really like the jaunty angle of this card. Sammi said on Instagram that the stripy paper looks like the lighting on her and her dress. She’s super smart! I was just liking the way it looked 🙂 I hope you enjoy the rest of your week! I’ll be back…

Bouquet Tobie, just in time for Spring

Spring has sprung (though we had a brief snow yesterday here in Michigan, smh) and with it our Spring Clear Stamp Release from Some Odd Girl. Today we are featuring one of two stamps in the release, Bouquet Tobie!  I was inspired to make this set by my son. All spring and summer long he brings me flowers of all types from the yard complete in a mug of water. They never last long but it makes my heart happy that he’s out playing, sees the flower and thinks of his Momma. Just thinking of it got to me *sniff* As for my card today I was going kinda soft…

Some Odd Girl‘s Fond Farewell blog hop

Its almost the end of this term at Some Odd Girl and to celebrate the wonderful term with some fabulous girls we are having a hop featuring everyone’s 3 favorite projects from the term. Each stop will have a digi from one of those creations to give away and a big prize on the Some Odd Girl blog. Its also where you’ll find our full hop list, just sayin. Before I show you my 3 fav projects from the term I have to say that spending the last year with these girls has been amazing! We’ve been like a family, ups & downs, not seeing eye to eye, sharing secrets, celebrating…

    Meet Nerdy Kody

Hey nerds! Its Clear Stamp Release day at Some Odd Girl and today we are featuring the first of two new stamps, Nerdy Kody, on our blog. This is my card from the release, I kinda have a love of black and white coloring going on right now. Kody is one of our CHA sets and at the show a few people commented how Nerdy Kody looks kind of like my Mister… Its true 😉 I can’t get him to wear a cardigan and his hair is a bit less messy but the glasses, laptop, and overall nerdiness are pretty spot on Its all part of his charm. Make sure…

    Bonjour, Valentine

Its my turn up on the Some Odd Girl blog this week with this card, using Frenchie Kody. I didn’t flat out put VALENTINES on it but I thought his raised brow and mustache twirling sent the message with his appraising look that makes knees weak. J can’t stache twirl but I know that look that says other things *hubba hubba* You can see more about this card on the Some Odd Girl blog. I did Copic Watercolor this image, let me know if you’d like to see a tutorial of that in the future, its pretty fun and easy.

    You’re Ripe for Me, Valentine

Hey Oddies! This week on the Some Odd Girl blog the girls are sharing some Valentine’s Day inspiration in case you have a few cards left to make before Saturday (or Friday for school). Today I have a 4×4 card that’s pretty simple in layering with the Banana from the Some Odd Girl clear stamp set, Fruit Salad. For the banana I colored him by watercoloring with Copic Markers various ink. (0, N0, N3, 100) I wasn’t very good at waiting for the stamped ink to dry but that kinda worked to my advantage in this case by adding a nice edge shadow to the peels. Score! Got to love…

    Hol-Odd-Day Hop!

Welcome to my, the last stop, on our Hol-Odd-Day Hop! You should have arrived from Anna’s blog but if not, hop back to the beginning and get started.  I’m so happy you stopped by! For my stop today I made a lil tag using the clear stamp Holideer. I stamped on kraft and fussy cut him out then used pencils, white, black, brown and pink, to add a little bit of dimension. Its a really easy way to “color” a critter without a ton of time or effort.  As for the tag, I used vellum over pattern paper, but you could easily put the layering to work by layering pattern…
