Welcome to my stop on the Up in the Clouds Linky Party Hop from Paper Issues and sponsored by Some Odd Girl!

rckhnds

I am totally excited to be sponsoring this Party! The girls at PI are the best and certainly talented so being able to share with them and see what they create with my stamps is just a treat unto it self. The fact that I get to share it with all of you is another big treat!

You should have gotten here from Aimee’s blog, if not, hop over to Paper Issues and start at the beginning.

Our theme for this Party is Up in the Clouds. Some Odd Girl released 2 new Clear Stamp sets with some fun clouds this week so it was the perfect theme for the hop. I used stamps from Happy Day and Umbrella Gwen on my layout.

I wanted my clouds to match the chartreuse color on the camera paper but alas I didn’t have the right color. I ended up double stamping all my clouds with Dandelion and Pear Tart Memento and it matched AWESOME! The stamps being clear made it easy to line up.

I’m an avid cloud watcher and sunset picture taker and it was a great time to get some of my fav instagram pics on to a layout, hence the title Instasky.

The next stop on the hop is Anna Sigga! She’s just too fab so I can’t wait to see what’s in store!

To be eligible for the prize from Some Odd Girl for this theme just…

1. Like Some Odd Girl on Facebook {tell them Paper Issues sent you}
2. Like Paper Issues on Facebook
3. Leave a comment

Thanks for hopping with us today!

Happy Monday!

Today is a new release day at Some Odd Girl! I’m trying to force Spring again with a Spring themed release. Spring Showers, clouds, sun rays and cute critters are all apart of this release.

I had started on videos to go along with each of the releases this week but it was on my schedule to finish them last week when my sick went down. *fail* I do have one for Wednesday’s Clever Kitty’s ready, we’ll see about finishing up the other 2.

This card has papers from Crate and Studio Calico and an Amy Tan scrap for the sentiment which is stamped with Danube Blue. The tag is a plain ol manilla shipping tag from Office Max that I stamped the clouds from Umbrella Gwen with Grey Flannel Memento and colored with Copics (B39, B69, B66, B63, B60, Y000, Y02, Y17, YR14) then the stars are from Freckled Fawn.

I’ll see you tomorrow!

Valentine's Day Layout by Kristy Dalman

Today is a new theme over at Paper Issues, let’s have a crafting a{flair}, sponsored by PI girls Martha with her shop Panda Eight Designs. She has some gorgeous flair!

The theme title was perfect for the layout I wanted to do, about valentine’s day with my kids and hubs this year. We decided to have breakfast for dinner, a treat around here, and I made heart shaped pancakes. The kiddos thought it was so super cool! I loved that they appreciated the effort. DH made a homemade pancake batter with cinnamon and vanilla that was just too yummy

I just got Paper Issues box (#cassiemail!) in and was so totally inspired! I used some new and some old(er) stuff.

new… Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm papers

old(er)… Crate Paper On Trend stickers

new… Crate Paper Maggie Holmes papers

old… AC flair

You get the idea :) I even used a Some Odd Girl sentiment on the page with the Neon blue Hero Arts ink… I’ve had it but hadn’t used it as I thought it would be darker. I was pleasantly surprised on the color! You’ll be seeing that alot now.

Hop over and link up! And if you go to the PI Shop for some goodies use my DT member code of ODDGIRL for 20% off your order. She’s got a ton of new stuff in that you’ll want too.

Boys Best Friend Tobie

Tobie

Look! I made 2 cards this week lol. I have one more for Friday :)

Today the feature is the digital stamp Boy’s Best Friend Tobie. I drew this on the airplane back from CHA Winter last year (believe it or not) and I lost it in a sketch book for a long time. Probably bc of all the dramamine for motion sickness I had taken. I’m not a great rider of any transportation.

This card came together super fast, which was weird. Everything, except the washi tape, came out of my scrap box. I need a bunch more of that yellow people paper *sigh* I think that’s the last of it too.

Hop over to the blog to see Rachel’s card for today too. Its SUPER CUTE!

Its a new digital release day at Some Odd Girl! On the Some Odd Girl blog we are featuring the new Happy Gwen digital stamp today and I’m geeked I finally got some crafty time (and a smidge of mojo) and got a card made :DD

its a winter miracle!

happy-gwen

This card as a decidedly shabby chic look too it to me and I don’t know how that happened, that’s not my usual style, but there it is. I kept things more light and texturey than bold colors which is my more normal go to. It has October Afternoon Paper, BG flowers and I stamped the sentiment with Memento. Gwen herself was colored with copics.

I hope you’ll stop by the blog and leave a comment to win this sweet girl and see the other creations today.

March Sketch Challenge

mushroom card by Kristy Dalman

Its March Challenge time at the Some Odd Girl blog! We’ve got a simple sketch that you can have a lot of fun playing with. I decided to do a simple small sized card, its 3.25″ x 3.5″, and used the Mushrooms and sentiment from the Hey Kaylee Clear Stamp set and cut out the mushes with the coordinating cut file.

I got to use something I got for christmas from my hubs on this card too. Target had a pair of scissor that they called the original paper shredder/confetti maker which is a lot like those Martha Stewart multi blade fringe scissors, less than half the price though! I like that it did that awesome twist to the paper when I cut it :)  My hubs knows me so well!

I hope you’ll come check out the sketch and link up this month! We’d love to see you there!

Cut file video

February 25th, 2013 by Kristy

Last week at Some Odd Girl we came out with our first, and definitely not our last, Cut Files! These specifically go along with our Clear Stamps. Think digital Die Cuts as Die Cuts with your stamps are so popular right now. The files are already perfectly sized for your stamps so just Cut and Stamp! :D

In my demonstration I’m using my Cameo but if you have the Make the Cut, Sure Cuts A Lot, Silhouette Studio Designer Edition or any cutter that can use SVGs or Trace a shape/image then you can use these.

I’ve had a few people asked about using these with the Cricut and I’ve done some research and the best info I found can be found here. It looks like in the near future Cricut will be making some upgrades that will allow the use of SVGs but currently its not available.  :3 Can we say limiting? I’m not sure if the Cricut software has a Trace function (maybe you can tell me!) but if it does then that would be the way to go.

I hope you enjoy! We’re working on the rest of them (making the thumbnails for the site is taking me longer then anything!) and I hope to have them up in the next week or two.

We have plans for lots of other Cut Files but, as you know I like hearing, what would you like to see?

Welcome to Paper Issues Spring into the Studio Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from Jennie but if this is your first stop, be sure to head over to Paper Issues to start at the beginning!

10-years-layout

I got inspired to create a LO for the hop from Patricia Roebuck when I saw one of hers on my Instagram. I hadn’t made a LO in a good while and I had some pics printed from my Instagram feed and all this Darling Dear SC goodies that it was the perfect time to create this LO!

My hubs and I will have our 10 year wedding anny this year (though we’ve been together 12 already) and he’s my darling Dear. I call him Dear and have for all this time so the deer flair was just perfect!

All the paper pieces are from a ton of SC lines, the wood buttons are SC, the flair and the word bubble as well. The background paper is Crate, journaling card OA, stamps are from Some Odd Girl and the splatter is Glimmer Mist.
