Hey everyone! Today I have a tutorial to add to my growing series of building digital scenes in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.  In the previous videos, each building on skills learned in the one before it, I’ve shared how to change a JPEG into a PNG, and how to layer a scene in photoshop.  In today’s video I have a neat trick from you add extra depth to your scene in a way you might not have thought of before… What do you think? A little goes a long way into making the two images look like one. Make sure to check out our previous Movie Monday videos tutorials for…

Layering a Scene in Photoshop Video Tutorial

A bit ago I shared with you how to take a JPEG and turn it into a layerable PNG. From that video I had requests to show more PNG goods, so today I’m sharing the basics of layering and sizing a scene in Photoshop. You can use the full CS version for this OR Photoshop Elements. This is going to be a little precursor to next month when I share some more advanced techniques so bust out that dusty, used only for photos, Photoshop and come play with your digi stamps! For my scene I used the digi stamps Daydream Fairy and Mushroom Garden, they compliment each other pretty well, eh? If…

    Critters Challenge in our Community

Challenges are BACK at Some Odd Girl and for the next 2 weeks we are rockin the Critters section of the shop! I created this lil shaker card… pocket card?… with a ton of vellum, a bit of sequins and one cute fishy, the digi stamp Goldie. I’m still working on the loooong process of getting 500+ digis moved over (mostly bc all the pics need to be redone) and got this girl colored up and thought it the perfect match to try a shaker card using my new Photo Fuse. I was going to do the regular window for the shaker but decided to try this method and viola!…

I used the Digital Stamp Tia & Puppy with the sentiment stamp from Walk the Dog Piper. The patterned papers are my Sunshine Sorbet Collection and the background paper is ARC wood veneer… its scrummy! For the sky background I just used my Copic Airbrush (I got a compressor for my birthday, SWOON) and put on a little bamboo twine. If you’d like a tutorial on getting started with the airbrush, hop over to StampNation and check…

    Daffodil Fairy CAS style

Its New Digi Tuesday at Some Odd Girl and its not often I get to get in on the option with the weekly mini hop the Odd Girls have but this week I managed to get a card made and am on time! SCORE! This card, featuring the new Digital Stamp Daffodil Fairy who is colored with Copics, is a pretty simple affair with 2 patterned papers, Sass and Studio Calico, cut at an angle and layered on an offset, from the neon yellow cardstock, white background.
