Bouquet Tobie, just in time for Spring

Bouquet-Tobie

Spring has sprung (though we had a brief snow yesterday here in Michigan, smh) and with it our Spring Clear Stamp Release from Some Odd Girl. Today we are featuring one of two stamps in the release, Bouquet Tobie!

I was inspired to make this set by my son. All spring and summer long he brings me flowers of all types from the yard complete in a mug of water. They never last long but it makes my heart happy that he’s out playing, sees the flower and thinks of his Momma. Just thinking of it got to me *sniff*

As for my card today I was going kinda soft and sepia. The papers are hoarded from a Sassafras release, especially the bottom paper, its one of my super favs. I also splattered some Heidi Swapp gold mist on to it and added the gold washi. The sentiment is from our Clear Stamp, Make a Statement, I thought it a fun twist and left the card open for more occasions.

For coloring I actually used some Spectrum Noirs. It didn’t have the kind of brown I wanted, to more match the kraft, so I used a combo of BGs and EBs to do the job. I haven’t colored sepia before so I can see where it could be better but not bad for a first go.

Now, hop over to the Some Odd Girl blog and check out what the lovely Odd Girls have created. Its the last release for this term and they are really bringing it today. I heart them to tiny bits!

Oh Kristy, I love how you sepia’d Tobie right in the middle of all those colors — what a grrrrreat technique!! I also love that you scalloped the bottom of your mat to go with the paper design. Awesome!! Thanks so much for sharing! =)
