Stars Speed Painting Process Video

I realized while working on my 2 latest art prints that digital painting has come a crazy long way since I made my last big piece in 2003. Photoshop 5.5 was the program I worked with (not CS5 like now lol that’s like 10 versions ago) then and techniques have really evolved. Consequently I am relearning as I go and really don’t know if my way is the best way (is it ever? ha) to do it but even if its not I am really enjoying it! I super love my markers but this is giving me a whole new avenue to play with color that isn’t as easy in a traditional medium. I know I’ll do more marker work soon but this is pretty satisfying right now.

I’ll have to dig around in my boxes and see if I can’t find the tree frog I painted for our wedding invitations, it was my 2003 piece, we printed it on acetate so it’ll be real fun to get a photo of. Yes, we did clear wedding invitations, trendsetters yo!

Anyways, this video is up on my new YouTube Channel for my personal art and tutorials, I’d love if you’d hop over and subscribe. 🙂 I’m still getting it all together but you’d certainly make my day!

You can check out the finished piece, Stars, on my Society6 page AND if you’d like to, become a Patron on my Patreon page. December patrons received exclusive line art from me, 2 of which were this piece and the other print, Wind. Your patronage helps me become the artist I want to be and give back to you at the same time.
