From this post and a little poll on FB I have gotten SO much feedback (SO = good) that I’m going to be doing a Nouveau Girl release. That’s just the name I’ve come up with for now, who knows if it will stick or not. Its going to take a little time to come up with a full release worth but above you can see a few snippets from the 3 I have so far.

I’m planning the release for Nov 1, Nouveau in November! That sounded good in my head 😉  I know its a gap but I’m still getting all the planned and drawn releases ready and this was our first open slot. I think it was fate actually. I tend to plan ahead and want 1 release per month, if it be digi or clear, and thru January 2012, Nov was unspoken for! And the release was born! Our next team at Some Odd Girl is going to get alot of fun things to play with, that’s fo sho!

What surprised me the most about this whole experience was the surprise at the different style. I totally forget that my style for Some Odd Girl, the style and face I put forward, is so new to my art that what I’ve always done is not the first thought of… I hope that made sense in my rambling! I’ve always done whimsical and fantasy-ish type art but up until 2009 I was alot more into a realistic style.

I did this piece in 2008, one of my favs! Realistic is still my core but 6-12 hours on one piece with 2 kids (3 if you count the hubs, 4 if you put SOG into the mix lol) it doesn’t happen but once in a blue moon. Not to mention my style for SOG is so fun to me! Realism is fun but can be certainly less playful 🙂
