Something I like to do in my free time (there's free time?!) is to embroider. I've made a few different hoops, like a raccoon, a bird and a monster, and the stitches used in embroidery can add some awesome detail and texture to lots of different craft projects! Below I have 5 Basic Embroidery Stitches I thought would be great to use on cards, scrapbooking and more! I used yarn vs embroidery...

Another job that got done last week was I finally got my office chair recovered! It was flaking and peeling the fake leather after about 2 years of constant use, the foam of the seat was pretty much flat and it actually hurt my tailbone to sit in it for any length of time. The rest of the chair, mechanically, was still as good as day one so it was definitely just time to give it a fix. We...

I might have some more sneaks for Tuesday's Some Odd Girl March 1st Digi release but today I'm spending a lot of time workin on *trying to stay awake, thanks cold medicine* and uploading items to the design shop and etsy :) I've got 5 things up in my Etsy and in the next couple days you can see what's going to be up at the Design Site. We just need to finish menus and some odds and ends. SO...

My Racoon :)I think he's terribly cute! This is one of the things I made for my new Design site. He's in that style I find cute even if he took a full day to make! And I don't mean a couple hours, I mean a couple hours the first night then most of the next day. I wanted him to look cute and fuzzy and instead of just doing an outline I filled him in with small stitches to make him look...

Who shared a room with a sibling growing up?Who had bunk beds?Who got stuck with the not so cool bottom bunk? That's my kiddos. They LOVE being in the same room but poor dude got the bottom bc he is too small for us to trust him going up and down steps at night. Steps? you say. Yup the idea of bunks was NOT going to happen without there being steps instead of a ladder! MOM WINS! Not to mention...

Was it just me or having the new year on a weekend just made it seem like a longer party than if it was on say, a wednesday? Its probably just me :) The year just doesn't seem so new anymore and its only day 3!Anyway, the project I have to share today is a lil project I designed and made for myself (with felt from HERE) when I really decided that I wanted to get more serious about sewing. I...

I hope everyone enjoyed their day yesterday! :)This year I actually made Esme's teacher, Miss N, a teacher giftie. I was soooo sick but managed to hand make a cup cozy the I hope she likes :) Its all hand stitched (wish my machine had been set up then!) and hand made. It wasn't terribly hard but making it all the way thru I can definitely see where the machine would have made a big difference in...

I've been making more of the Felt Ornaments that I made for the last craft fair as they went over very well but after a few I got bored with the stitches I was doing so I looked up some real embroidery stitches and have been having soooooo much fun working on these ornaments that embroidery might become a regular part of my crafty routine. My Grandma would be so PROUD! She always tried to teach...

I wanted share a card I started Friday and finally finished up! I had fun with it...images removed for submitting :)I used my red twine (I would LOVE some more colors to play with but alas lol) and had tons of fun making my flat "spool" of thread look dimensional. I used my Silhouette to cut out the shape then copics and a white pen for the shading and highlights. I even colored on the twine...

Holy Moly, I have never claimed I could sew. I'm not a novice but not really intermediate either but I will say that fabric is fun! Today I am working on the banner for my crafty booth for this weekend. Its still a work in progress but here's how it sits so far. I started with...That's as far as I've got right now. Its drying since everything is glued down :) I am going to be stitching in the ...
