Today at Some Odd Girl we are kicking off our Annual Hol-Odd-day Hop!
This year the Odd Girls are featuring projects that are holiday gifties or decor projects that you can make at home. You should have arrived from Suzanne’s blog. If not, hop over to the Some Odd Girl blog and start at the beginning. You want to comment on every stop to win the goodies hidden along the way.
For my stop today I created this simple yet fun holiday ornament using the new Snowflake Ornament Cut File, the Penguin from Winter Friends and the Celebrate sentiment from Everyday Smiles.
I pierced a ton of holes in the snowflake shape and stitched my way around to give it a really homemade look. It took a while but its totally worth it!
I really think that you could cut a few of these and hand them over to little ones to color and decorate. Put the year on it and their piccy in the middle and have a really cute yearly ornament. Its a great class project too!
For my lil treat along the hop I’m giving you a coupon code to be able to grab this cut file for free all week long, the code is HOLODDDAYHOP. If you use it, please share it with us on our Facebook page, we LOVE seeing your projects!
The next stop on the hop trail is Jenn! Make sure to leave her some love and stop back to the Some Odd Girl blog all week for more chances to win!

Kimberly Storti says:
love what you created what is a cut file? Am new too cardmaking love learning new things!!!
Kristy says:
thanks Kimberly! A cutfile is an image/shape you use with an electronic cutting device like Silhouette.
Kimberly Storti says:
Oh okay thank you hun, am looking into investing in a emboss/die cutting machine, how does the silhouette compare to the big shot, cuddle bug , etc… I want to make the best choice. If you don’t want to reply on here you can email me personally kimmeegrrl@gmail.com
Kristy says:
I personally have a cuttlebug & a Silhouette. It would depend on what you want to cut, what you’ll be cutting it for mostly to base your decision on. I like my cuttlebug & dies for simple shapes that I just need 1 of them real quick. The Silhouette I use for more complex stuff like whole cardbases, scrapbook layouts, cut out fonts etc. I’d weigh those before deciding on just one.
Kimberly Storti says:
You are so sweet to answer my questions!!! I’m thinking of selling the cards that I make too give me some extra money it would help pay for my many, many prescriptions I take with just my hubby being the only provider for the family. So you answering my questions help!!
