Recovered Office Chair

Another job that got done last week was I finally got my office chair recovered! It was flaking and peeling the fake leather after about 2 years of constant use, the foam of the seat was pretty much flat and it actually hurt my tailbone to sit in it for any length of time. The rest of the chair, mechanically, was still as good as day one so it was definitely just time to give it a fix.

We took it all apart then I got handy with new fabric, new foam and a staple gun

The back was the hardest part! I was going to slip cover it but I am not that awesome of a sewer. After I took a closer look at the back I noticed that they had some fancy stitching that created an extra flap that hid where they stapled it on from the outside. So I took it apart carefully, recovered the front, then put the old backing back on.

Viola! I love the updated look of it and its MUCH more comfy with a new 3″ thick foam on the seat. Maybe it will last me another 2 years 🙂

Its going to be nice to sit on during Facebook Fun Day tomorrow! Don’t forget to join us on the Some Odd Girl Facebook Page for tutorials, challenges, Quick Sales, chats, sneak preview (buy?) of Monday’s release and more! Last month went super awesome and I hope we’ll see more of you Odd fans this month too!
