Secluded Day, Thoughts and Questions

Well its usually light right now at the beginning of the day but you get the idea 🙂

Yesterday, maybe or I hope, you noticed an absence of a post here. I went in full seclusion mode (almost… the lure of emails is unresistable!) to get the designs done for the September Clear Release. I had a new Chrome extension to help me out called StayFocused, it limits your webtime and will block out sites if you go over while scolding you, and I’m happy to report it worked! At 6pm I sent all 6 designs and packing for a new set size on to our manu  to get sampled out for approval! YAY! It only took almost all day.

While I was working on that, you know how your mind can do one thing yet ramble on about other things? Maybe its me. 😉 Even if you think your full concentration is on something you can yapyapyap at yourself. Well, I was trying to think of a blog post topic(s) and I’d like to share more about Some Odd Girl, what goes on, behind the scenes kinda things, etc and while I thought that I kinda got that feeling of… apprehension? Maybe the right word. We’ll go with that for right now at least. Put that towards, I’m not sure what to share let alone what anyone would find interesting. I’ve always had a “EEEK! Is someone looking at me?” kinda attitude, hence I’m not a pattern wearing girl, and this falls along in that. Its strange in its own way. As a business owner I like people looking at my products and biz but when eye gets turned in my direction I’m the girl you’ll see ducking.

This year though has been a coming out of my shell sorta of year long goal and I want to push that boundry. So all my rambling aside, I want to know what YOU want to know! Ask away, anything at all, I reserve the right not to answer but I’m going to make it my goal to do so. It may take a few posts or not but it’ll give me some ideas.

Ok, fireaway!

I would like to know how you got started and whether you have business advice for another crafty girl who has a million ideas on designs but zero connections or clues on how to get started. I know this is business sensitive.. I hope it’s ok.
Thank you from another Paper Issues girl. 🙂

Love this question Michelle! I’m all about helping out. I’ll work on this one 😀

  • Marilyn says:

Yes, why are you so cute? 🙂

    • Kristy says:

      You’re silly! LOL!

Do you ever wish you got to work on something creative that isn’t SOG? Do you want to freelance illustrate to keep yourself occupied and imanginative or can you only see SOG right now as all you want to do?

Had to think of something to ask! 🙂 (PS: Sent you another email you might like…)

    • Kristy says:

Loved that email 😉 Another great question, post-able.

Oh id love to know how you come up with your designs, what inspires you and how you first start to put your design down into a creation? I am not arty at all so the mind boggles 🙂
    love tasha xx

an artistic process post sounds in order! 😀

I would like to know what you are looking for in a Guest Designer? *buwhahahahahahah!!!*

Seriously, like Tasha I am also wondering where you get your inspirations for your designs. Not only are the characters different, but they are ‘posed’ so uniquely too when compared with other stamps out there (love this!).

Are you planning on going to CHA this winter, and do you need a booth helper (pick me! pick me!!)? 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • Kristy says:

      That’s a good post question! 🙂

As for CHA Winter, we want to attend, fingers crossed, but don’t intend to have a booth until CHA Summer 2012. I want to get a closer peek at set ups before we dive.

    I’ve got a question… or two… 🙂
Do you see yourself in any particular character that you’ve created so far?
And when it comes to your repeated cast of characters do you imagine specific personalities for each one?

  • Leah Crowe says:

Hmm I have all kinds of questions.. the nosey kind too 😀

    1. How do you store your copics? How many colors do you have? How often do you get to sit down and just color?
    2. When drawing, do you do it on paper then scan and ink in PS.. draw on a wacom? What’s your process? What’s the longest you’ve spent on designing one of your rockin’ creations?

So glad you are putting yourself out there this year, because I think you friggin ROCK the house and are a true inspiration to us!
