Packing… DONE!

by Kristy on March 20, 2009

Isn’t that a sweet picture??? One of my favorites LMAO!!! I’m packed, I’m ready! Its a tool tote more than I took to the last one but I had to take more b/c this crop is for AN ENTIRE WEEKEND!!!

:::blissful sigh:::
No hubby’s…
No kids…
its 1:30 and Liz will be here to pick my happy ass up at 5:30. 4 hours! I can not wait! I can’t forget my pillow though. Looking at my pile I don’t have that. I seem to have almost have cleared out my stash (really, there is some stuff left in there) and I have to carry myself BUT I don’t care! Scrappy stuff can stay where we will scrap (I think) and the bag for my clothes can go with. Not too bad. I can just imagine the world ending cries when I leave, from my kids.
My MIL kept trying to tell me I needed more stuff to take but this already feels a bit ridiculous. No one else will have this much stuff. Which is funny. I was looking at the organizational sale at 2peas and my tool tote is now considered the “lite” size.
Really.
No wonder my cutterpede doesn’t really fit in the bag :P I got the bag years ago and my fiskars fit. I just find it funny. Like I need room to bring more stuff. Though, oddly, I feel like I’m forgetting something. I wonder what it could be.
Well, I’ll be back Monday hopefully with some fun scrappy goodness. Have a good weekend with whatever you do!

Makeover time!

by Kristy on March 16, 2009

I have 2 makeovers goin on. One is done! Check the bloggy-goodness! I love it :) I hadn’t re-done it in forever. Its all my fav colors!!!

The second make over is my “scrap-oire.” It just doesn’t seem that I’m using my space in there very well so I need some ideas. I asked DH his opinion and he was like “uhhhhhhhhhhh” so I thought I’d throw it out there for advice. It looks kinda junky right now. Let’s get into it.
a little junkie. I think I want to paint it. Haven’t gotten that far yet.

The last pic is the side I was thinkin of puttin some clear peg board on. DH isn’t so hot on that idea. He likes the idea of being able to shut it all away. I’m not sure. The slotted cubes have all my paper. The 2 binders are my stickers and stamps. I really need those out of there. My paper really isn’t fitting after the cardstock I got for christmas. The blue lidded box is all my scraps, I use it alot. I have 2 magnet boards that I put in before I got the cubes. They really aren’t accessible now :P The white drawers have my ribbon and pens in one, thickers in another and chipboard in the last. The built in drawers have pics, then adhesive/tools, stamp pads/glitter, embellishments, then paints and such. On top of the cubes are my foam stamps. Oh on the top of the whole shabang is my bucket printer, (pink basket) full of chipboard, and (green basket) heidi swap giant foam stamps. There’s also some new AC D-rings up there.
The jars of foam stamps (love them!) and the stickers are my biggest aggravation. I can’t really get to either one. Neither has a good home. I can’t see them so I don’t use them. I have to dig to get to the thickers too. The chipboard in the pink basket is loose right now too. I hate digging! I had an open space, larger with shelves, before we moved and now I have to try and be organized in this tiny thing. Its a little frustrating!
I also really have no good spot to put all my finished stuff that isn’t LO’s.
Let me have all your idea! We are very handy so give’em all to me! TIA!!! I have a couple ideas but I don’t want to taint the creative flow. I’llpost my ideas in a couple days maybe.

Squeekin in!

by Kristy on March 16, 2009

BUZZZZZZZ

I just slid in right under the buzzer with my LO for the “Imagine Challenge” on CM. Or that’s what I’m calling it at least LOL!!! I think it had a nicer title. I started on it yesterday but didn’t have time to finish with children who think bedtime is the worlds worst punishment! I ended up snugglin dd and reading my book which in and of itself is wonderful but that LO was calling me! I was stumped on how to do the title anyway. I love how it turned out even though that was a TON of hand cutting. Its fun though! I need to get some foam dots. The HUGE pop dots were gummin up my scissors as I needed them smaller. They need a good cleanin now :P . Oh well, its done now LOL!
The quote says “Imagination is the Eye of the Soul” – Joseph Joubert
AC Thickers; Sassafras pp; Basic Grey background paper (kinda a pp really), Dyno label maker (love my label maker!);  misc: acrylic paint, thread and the two words were printed and cut out.
Tomorrow I might put up a post about my storage situation. I’m looking how to use it more efficiently and I have no one to get opinions on it from really. I went from a space to an armoire. Hmm…..
TFL! All comments are like double chocolate chunk cookies, so sweet and savored!

On a Scrappy Roll!

by Kristy on March 14, 2009

I’ve been workin on challenges today from a group on Cafemom and for me this is a lot to get done in one day! Between house work, kids and other general-ness I’m quite pleased :) I have to get to bed early (gotta be up to go to work at 4:30am :P )  so I had to stop for the night. There is at least one more challenge for me to do there before I get to future work for If the Shoe Fits

I did like 3 cards today which, and I know I keep saying this, is alot for newbie-card-maker me. I will keep calling myself newbie-card-maker until I feel comfortable doing it. You might hear that term for another year LOL!!! Anyways here they are! Feel free to critique all you want. Just no haters please :)
This last little project is a fridge magnet. I think it turned out too cute. I love the little detail that dd has a heart drawn on her hand in the pic. They love each other even though I break up little fights DAILY.
The first two cards ACTUALLY have destinations in mind LOL! I never make things while thinking ahead. I feel totally smartsy this time!!! I’m not sure I WANT to give away my cupcake card. Its too cute! The icing part is white felt too. I might just keep it and put it on display LOL.
BTW, did anyone else see the new KETTO stamps at Stampin’ Bella??? I like the Bella’s, never got any of my own, but these are so me! I WANT THEM! I think I’ve fallen hard for stamping LOL someone stop me!

Scrap Mojo

by Kristy on March 11, 2009

I ran across this blog called Scrap Mojo really randomly. It was in the description line of a LO on 2Peas. Most times I don’t check these things but I liked the LO so much I was intrigued. The challenge on the blog caught my imagination as well. The challenge was to make a LO answering “If I ruled the world___” but I put it off in lieu of getting ready for our Challenge Blog If the Shoe Fits… SCRAP IT! But yesterday I came back to it. Even though I’ve been REALLY sick for almost a week now I started picking away at it between trips back to the couch and watching the kids (SO SICK!) but I finally finished it tonight! I really love the way it turned out! The only part of it that is a little “eh” to me is the word dreams. Its not the font I wanted but I couldn’t come up with anything better. I like it but I’m not in love with it.

If you can’t read it it says “if I ruled the world… I’d make sure dreams came true” I might take some more pics tomorrow. The LO has alot of layers and height. Before anyone asks the Kraft colored flower is not a scrappy item really. It feels like its made of twine BUT its actually a pony tail holder LOL. I cut off the loop that goes around your hair.
Patterned Paper is Love, Elise, Basic Grey; AC Thickers; Love, Elise chipboard buttons; Dyno Label maker and misc other stuff.
In other news, if you use the AC modern D-Ring albums RUNRUNRUN to Tuesday Morning!!! I got 3 (the last 3 12×12 in the store) for $7 each!!! They had other sizes as well. They also had a great K&Co “kit” that I got for my month to offer the challenge prize on If the Shoe Fits. I was almost dismayed when I heard about them having the albums b/c I had just gotten all the KI Memories goodies but I DID need a new album anyways :) Tuesday Morning is quickly becoming a must stop spot just to take a peek for the goodies!
Thanks for stoppin by my blog! I’d love it if you’d leave a quick hi!

Packin my bags…

by Kristy on March 6, 2009

And goin to a crop this weekend!!! WOOT! All day Sunday I am going to sit and scrap! It sounds like a slice of heaven! Hopefully I feel better by ten :P I woke up with laryngitis this morning and I kinda feel a bit crappy. But just the idea of the Murder Mystery Dinner (my first! Its were you go in costume to a dinner and try to figure out who done it over the courses. I’m a fortune teller… kinda on the hippy side by my costume :D )on Sturday evening then staying at my friends’ house so we can crop Sunday makes me Excited! Just have to make it thru work in the morning (til 3:30pm SHOOT ME!) and I’ll be on my way!!!

I think I’m all packed up but I can’t help but thinking I’m forgetting some stuff as my bag can still close. hmmmmm…. going to have to give it a good once over to make sure.
Here’s a fun LO I did early this morning for a color challenge over at If the Shoe Fits… SCRAP IT! The colors were lime green and orange. Colors I use alot for ds anyway so I had a leg up on having the paper. I did switch it up and did a funny pic of dd that I’ve been sitting on for just the right occasion.
Patterned papers are KI Memories, Pink Paisley and Ameican Crafts; journal block, Jenni Bowlin, Heidi Swapp for the little wings; Letters, American Crafts; Plastic flowers, American Crafts.
I’m sure to have some fun things to post about come Monday! I hope you’ll come check it out! TFL! Your comments are so appreciated!

Finally done!!!

by Kristy on March 4, 2009

After I saw Tracey’s challenge on Monday of the File Folder mini album I KNEW I had to make myself one!!! Its definately not as fancy as hers (have you seen it? Its GORGEOUS!!!) but it definately goes with the subject matter. I decided to do it of my son’s first birthday. I’ve been sitting on these pics for a while now and I didn’t know just what to do with them as there were so many.

I had a few more pics then would fit so I did a little “addition” to the end of the mini album. I love how this turned out!!! Its making me look around for more things that could possibly be made into a mini album!

Let’s see… brown starred pp is Sassafras Lass, bg pp is Love, Elise; scallops strip pp is Basic Grey; ribbon: American Crafts (I need more of it!!!) chipboard is KI Memories, Maya Road and not sure as it was a gift from my MIL; Shoe letters: American Crafts and journaling tabs are creative cafe.
