    Birthday Hat

I haven’t had crafty mojo for the last 3 months at least, besides coloring and drawing all my supplies have been gathering dust pretty much. When we were planning for this week’s Some Odd Girl birthday celebration Melissa suggested making our own party hats, it was not something I’d ever made and it made my crafty mojo peek up out of its long slumber.     The first thing I did was to make a template so I knew how to create (and recreate if I messed it up) the hat itself, the template is now available as a freebie in my shop. I am not the smoothest paper roller…

    Coloring Faces Ebook

I’m super excited (and nervous to tell the truth) to be putting out my Coloring Faces ebook today! I’ve been picking away at this thing for 2+ years and finally decided to go for it and get it out there. There are many great ebooks out but I think this one will give you a unique perspective. In it I share techniques to “seeing” the shape of the face then applying that to all the stylized images we know and love. Its a bit more “in depth” probably than some coloring tut books out there as its to show you how to approach an face with some anatomy behind it,…

    Laura’s Shop Hop

Hi Everyone! Today I am joining a new wholesaler to the Some Odd Girl family by joining in the hop for the grand opening of her shop, Laura’s Loft! I really suggest you hop thru the list at the bottom of this post, not just for the prizes Laura is giving away, but to learn more about her endeavor and see some fabulous creations. I may be the last stop on the hop but you should have come from Ellen whose creation I got to see before hand and I kinda want to be her when I grow up now! For my project though I used my stamp set, Hey…

    Nerdy Tia Digi Stamp

Whoot! Its almost time for back to school! I love my kiddos but Momma needs some alone time. Today’s new Some Odd Girl Digi Stamp is Nerdy Tia, she’s totally ready to go back to school with her pencil and books ready. She is Tobie’s counterpart from earlier in the month so if you want a geeky pair for cards or scrapbook pages, you’re covered. For my card I went deep in my stash ball pen and pulled out 2 old SC papers and the pencils from Prima. You know I had to have that pencil paper when it came out and I’ve been hoarding it hardcore. Tia with her…

    Critters Challenge in our Community

Challenges are BACK at Some Odd Girl and for the next 2 weeks we are rockin the Critters section of the shop! I created this lil shaker card… pocket card?… with a ton of vellum, a bit of sequins and one cute fishy, the digi stamp Goldie. I’m still working on the loooong process of getting 500+ digis moved over (mostly bc all the pics need to be redone) and got this girl colored up and thought it the perfect match to try a shaker card using my new Photo Fuse. I was going to do the regular window for the shaker but decided to try this method and viola!…

    14 Carrot Friend

Last week on the Some Odd Girl blog I shared this card as inspiration on using the accessory stamps I add to most of our stamp sets, and now its time to share it here. I busted out my Hip Hop Hooray Clear Stamp set, I thought he’d be great for spring, and made a blingy CAS creation. I really enjoy using those extra stamps to make background patterns, like I did on a Steampunk Kaylee card and on a card with Mr. Octopus. You can really stretch the sets that way. I just eyeball the placement by picking 2 spots on the stamps to line up, start in a corner with the…

Each stop will have a digi from one of those creations to give away and a big prize on the Some Odd Girl blog. Its also where you’ll find our full hop list, just sayin. We’ve been like a family, ups & downs, not seeing eye to eye, sharing secrets, celebrating…

    Bonjour, Valentine

Its my turn up on the Some Odd Girl blog this week with this card, using Frenchie Kody. I didn’t flat out put VALENTINES on it but I thought his raised brow and mustache twirling sent the message with his appraising look that makes knees weak. J can’t stache twirl but I know that look that says other things *hubba hubba* You can see more about this card on the Some Odd Girl blog. I did Copic Watercolor this image, let me know if you’d like to see a tutorial of that in the future, its pretty fun and easy.
