    Cut file video

Last week at Some Odd Girl we came out with our first, and definitely not our last, Cut Files! These specifically go along with our Clear Stamps. Think digital Die Cuts as Die Cuts with your stamps are so popular right now. The files are already perfectly sized for your stamps so just Cut and Stamp! 😀 In my demonstration I’m using my Cameo but if you have the Make the Cut, Sure Cuts A Lot, Silhouette Studio Designer Edition or any cutter that can use SVGs or Trace a shape/image then you can use these.  I’ve had a few people asked about using these with the Cricut and I’ve…

    marker swatch template

Today I’ve got a fun little goodie for you! I was talking with one of the students on the Created from Color class forum and she showed how she likes to do the swatches for her markers and they totally reminded me of the paint chips I horde from Lowes (I WILL come up with something someday I swear it!) which reminded me of the OTHER paint chips at lowes that have the hole in them for better paint matching/coordinating and my brain smished them together in to what I have for you today! For my birthday I got myself some new programs that helped me make this PDF download.…

    Felt Pocket Necklace tutorial

A few weeks ago my hubs won a iPod Shuffle from a work contest. He already keeps his music and podcasts on his smartphone so he had no use for it AND the shuffle was so small that while he wanted to give it to our daughter we all know it would be lost in less time than it took to listen to one of the songs. So I came up with this solution to not only give her a bigger brighter place to clip the shuffle to but to put the headphones in and a handy necklace to keep it contained.  For today’s tutorial I’m going to show you…

    Shading Yellow: a Copic Tutorial

I’ve seen this question come up A LOT lately! Maybe its from the warmer, sunnier weather 🙂 This little bit is something I learned when I used to do a lot more painting but the idea totally applies to copics too. If you try to shade yellow with a grey/black it usually turns out green and just kind of icky. I always encourage you to experiment and find your own likes but Y26 and Y28 are my go tos for shading yellow.  I hope you enjoyed the tut and I hope it was helpful!

    gift box tutorial: part 1

Today I have a tutorial up on the Copic Marker Blog and their theme for May is Weddings. I was asked “to do something paper crafty that goes along with it.” Let’s just say I had a lot of wiggle room XD  So the pic above it the finished project of the tutorial. I am starting out the tutorial here bc frankly I did SO many things with it that it all couldn’t fit there, I already had to get uber creative with my photos (I took a ton) lol. So part one of my Custom Wedding Gift Box is how to make the box then on Copic’s blog is how…
