Movie Monday, Using Liquid Masking Fluid & Airbrushing

Happy Monday! Today its a Movie Monday with Some Odd Girl and I am bringing you a video on using liquid masking fluid to prep for airbrushing your background. I show you how I prepped and airbrushed the background for our newest Digi Stamp, Swing Mae.  Want to see the video? Hop over to the Some Odd Girl blog and see the video. I got kinda fearful doing this video so I’m sure this makes for more funny for you 😉 Funny but informational, a pretty great combo I think!   Don’t forget our Retirement Sale all thru May (not Mae, hehe). New items are up in the shop today…

    Critters Challenge in our Community

Challenges are BACK at Some Odd Girl and for the next 2 weeks we are rockin the Critters section of the shop! I created this lil shaker card… pocket card?… with a ton of vellum, a bit of sequins and one cute fishy, the digi stamp Goldie. I’m still working on the loooong process of getting 500+ digis moved over (mostly bc all the pics need to be redone) and got this girl colored up and thought it the perfect match to try a shaker card using my new Photo Fuse. I was going to do the regular window for the shaker but decided to try this method and viola!…

    14 Carrot Friend

Last week on the Some Odd Girl blog I shared this card as inspiration on using the accessory stamps I add to most of our stamp sets, and now its time to share it here. I busted out my Hip Hop Hooray Clear Stamp set, I thought he’d be great for spring, and made a blingy CAS creation. I really enjoy using those extra stamps to make background patterns, like I did on a Steampunk Kaylee card and on a card with Mr. Octopus. You can really stretch the sets that way. I just eyeball the placement by picking 2 spots on the stamps to line up, start in a corner with the…

    Meet Meadow Tia

Hey cardmaking homies, today we have a new Digi Stamp at Some Odd Girl, Meadow Tia! Yesterday was my son’s 8th birthday (I feel OLD) and that was my normal crafty day but woke up this morning and busted this card out! You peeps who can make a card in under a hour get big props from me! I already had Tia colored and just had to do the background but dang, I felt pretty sloooooow, it took me closer to a hour and a half. I used papers from Crate Paper’s Journey 6×6, enamel dots from Studio Calico and sentiment stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle from the Cookies n…

    Best Friends Card

Happy Monday everyone! On the Some Odd Girl blog I have my first card Process Video up for Movie Monday for my Best Friends card using the Digi Stamp, Girlfriends Kaylee & Mae, which also includes my coloring of the image. I’ve been asked to do a card process video before and I’ve always been afraid of it since 9 times out of 10 I go in with no plan, but decided to give it a go. I think I need to move the camera back a bit and maybe have some basics set up ahead (?) but not too shabby overall.    Copic Colors: Kaylee Skin – E000, E00, E04,…

    50s Mae Inspiration

Last week on the Some Odd Girl blog I had the fun of bringing you a little inspiration to your Thursday. I couldn’t just share my 50s Mae Digi Stamp card there and not here too! I gave it a few days to breathe and viola! You can read a bit more on my thought process on the Inspiration post but I really like the jaunty angle of this card. Sammi said on Instagram that the stripy paper looks like the lighting on her and her dress. She’s super smart! I was just liking the way it looked 🙂 I hope you enjoy the rest of your week! I’ll be back…

Bouquet Tobie, just in time for Spring

Spring has sprung (though we had a brief snow yesterday here in Michigan, smh) and with it our Spring Clear Stamp Release from Some Odd Girl. Today we are featuring one of two stamps in the release, Bouquet Tobie!  I was inspired to make this set by my son. All spring and summer long he brings me flowers of all types from the yard complete in a mug of water. They never last long but it makes my heart happy that he’s out playing, sees the flower and thinks of his Momma. Just thinking of it got to me *sniff* As for my card today I was going kinda soft…

    Meet Nerdy Kody

Hey nerds! Its Clear Stamp Release day at Some Odd Girl and today we are featuring the first of two new stamps, Nerdy Kody, on our blog. This is my card from the release, I kinda have a love of black and white coloring going on right now. Kody is one of our CHA sets and at the show a few people commented how Nerdy Kody looks kind of like my Mister… Its true 😉 I can’t get him to wear a cardigan and his hair is a bit less messy but the glasses, laptop, and overall nerdiness are pretty spot on Its all part of his charm. Make sure…

    Hello there

Happy Monday!  Today I’m sharing with you this card using the 1920s Gwen digi stamp and a light soft palette… except that pop of yellow.  I kept the colors and shading very soft on her with my Copics to go with the sweet papers. I’ve had this card sitting for a while but I couldn’t get a great pic of it, it just wasn’t cooperating. Lately I had been shooting my pics on a wood top with a pattern paper background because how I used to do it made the editing take a long time. I wasn’t very in love with it. So many make it look FAB but I…
