Up Do | Speed Art Video

Now that I’m regularly drawing on my tablet monitor I can do some really nice Speed Art videos for you guys! Yay technology! In this video I recorded the creation of Up Do, a line art from my August Patreon…     This is the first video I’ve done of start to finish drawing and inking. The video is sped up to 750% from the actual, or so says my Adobe Premier Elements, from that you can get a pretty good idea on the actual time this took. Watching it back I maybe could have sped it up a bit more, what do you think? I didn’t want to over…

    Copic Coloring of a Carrot

Today I’m releasing some new Digi Stamps at Some Odd Girl and after coloring them all for the shop I thought it might be a fun idea to make up some Swatches for you guys! To see the entire release please head over to the new release section of the shop, there’s 18 new images for you.   First up on my Swatches I have Carrot, I can’t help myself, I think he’s pretty cute…         What do you think of this format? I’m adding them to the item descriptions in the shop as I go so please give them a Pin or Share them with your…

    June 2016 Patreon

Welcome to the beginning of summer! This month for patrons I have 2 exclusive images, one for the season, Mermaid, and the second, Falling, is a piece in and of itself I guess you could say.     Mermaid was inspired by a request and I think I might have taken it in a different direction than she had intended it turned out so well, imo, that I had to share it with my patrons. I’m working on a colored version for July’s desktop background but the tail is giving me fits I got to say.   Falling was inspired by my mood for much of May. Completely antisocial and…

    Patreon Preview: Mermaid

I’ve been working on a new piece for June’s Patreon. I have a lil preview for you below, but I’ve had a request, a very hopeful one I might add, for a mermaid and I had done some sketching previously but couldn’t come up with anything that inspired me to keep going.    But I finally did…     This is still in the sketch phase, the pics here, but the official inking of it is complete with a few changes… a girl has to keep a few secrets.   You’ll have to excuse the strangeness of the pics, they are literally photos of the screen, nice quality I’m sure.…

    May 2016 Patreon

May’s patreon goodies were sent out to my patrons today. Computer problems made my late, I’m sad to say, but either way I hope they enjoy this month’s exclusive line art and desktop background.     I am pretty dang horrible at naming images as I’m sure you already know if you’ve read any of the names from past months, ha.   For May, patrons received the line art of Up & Float and a bonus sketch art of the painting from the May Desktop background. I seriously didn’t even think of a lame name for her, it never crossed my mind. Le sigh.   <Insert Name Here> on the…

    Coloring Curly Hair

Today I have a new coloring tutorial for you today!   I’ll totally admit that I had so much trouble coming up with a topic for my video on the Some Odd Girl blog today. I ended up going thru our YouTube coloring tutorial list and spotted a glaring omission, curly hair! I’m a big lover of doing hair tutorials (no idea why) and I really couldn’t believe I missed it.    For my video today I am using the digi stamp, Tropical Piper. She has some really big hair that is just PERFECT for this tutorial.     In the video I used E71, E74, E77, & E79,…

    Go Fund Me

Today I have something a little bit different to share. Its kind of a request for help if you’d be so inclined…     ignore the huge picture of my mug, I had no idea what pic to use.   I’m going to try not to reiterate what I wrote in the Go Fund Me campaign story, so I invite you to go read it. After switching to my hybrid method of creating, drawing on the tablet, transferring to my desktop computer to edit and finish in Photoshop, I’ve realized that this not only speeds up my work time but it also makes for less mistakes and I feel freer…

    April 2016 Patreon

I’m excited to show you guys what my lovely Patrons go for their April goodies.   First off is the April desktop background. After 3 false starts at coloring the exclusive, Nature, from March I finally got in gear and finished her up just as March was closing. She fits the April showers bring May flowers theme, huh? Though here in Michigan on April 2 we had pretty much a blizzard going. SMH Michigan, SMH. You can check out the full finished piece on my Society6 account, give yourself a giftie and take her home.   The first level girls will be getting the image I shared on my…

    Nature Digital Art Inking video

Howdy there! I have a digital art process video to share with you guys today, it is a portion of the digital inking of one of March’s Patreon exclusive line arts, Nature.    Its a speed drawing (inking?) video the compresses a couple hours worth of inking down into a more easily digested video. Check it out…     I used an app called AZ Screen Recorder to capture this from my tablet, I’m really surprised it worked as well as it did. The app *said* it could and I don’t know about you, but I don’t believe it until I see it.    Besides this video I also recorded…
