baby, its cold outside! Penguin card

This card kinda personifies what’s been going on around here. Get the gloves and mittens on as its getting cold! Though for mid-November we’ve only seen snow flurries once and it didn’t stick so yay! And why is it so ridiculously tough to find a boy’s scarf? Its a must here in the winter and no one (finally found one at Old Navy) has any! Girls, a ton, boys, none.

Photographing this card was tough! The base is vellum and I shot it on the normal background and grrrr its not how I like but you can see the card so I guess that’s a win 🙂 His scarf is paper pieced from some Sass paper that weirdly matched the background teal. Great score there! The patterned papers are SC and the black is Hambly, not that you can see the lacey pattern on it so much, its there though! The penguin stamp is from Some Odd Girl’s Winter Friends and the sentiment from Winter Warmth, also SOG.

****** PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS POST FOR ALL THE WINNER’S FROM LAST MONTH! PRIZES STILL AREN’T CLAIMED! I WILL BE PICKING NEW ONES BY THE END OF THE WEEK IF THEY AREN’T CLAIMED!***** I’d do it now but my neck is killing me and I need to take something and veg a bit to loosen it up. That’s my whine for today.

Wow, that card is amazing! Love the bright colors!
And the papers are great too! Maybe you can make a scarf by yourself? Over here in Belgium it’s very fashionably to make one 😉 (i’m glad it isn’t snowing … yet;-))

    Hugs, Evy

Such a cute card, Kristy. Love the funky colours. It’s amazing how well they go together. I would never have dared to combine these different shades of green myself.

Way to use that background as the inspiration for the color palette! I just love when you can actually find greens that match well. It is SO hard to do! The penguin is adorable. I love those stamps!

I love this cute penguin friend! I should go back and color him up! I am in love with how you always add so much depth to the facial features:) I hope your neck is better soon–maybe a nice massage from hubby and a super warm bath!
