Created from Color Class Spot Giveaway

Kristy back today for a special giveaway. In this giveaway you won’t be getting an item or a Gift Certificate, you’ll be getting a class spot in the coloring class that I teach with my good friend Melissa Andrew, Created from Color!

Registration for our next Basic Class just opened on Oct 1 and we’ll be starting class on Oct 29 so the deadline to enter this giveaway is shorter than the rest this month, Oct 22.  First though let me tell you a bit about the class…

The Created from Color Basic Class is a 10 week course with hands on instruction and help from Kristy and Melissa. We will be having 7 weeks of lessons with downloadable content, videos, access to our student only forum and gallery where you can interact with your teachers and students while you take the class then 3 extra weeks to review content, ask questions and keep practicing your new skills. The class is presented in a blog format with lessons posted 2-3 times per week, once they have been posted they stay up for the duration of the class so you can go back and work at your own pace or work on the lessons daily. We want you to be able to come into the class as a complete newbie and leave with confidence!

We’ll be covering topics such as Smooth Coloring and Blending Techniques, Coloring Hair, Skin, Clothing and Fur, Using your Colorless Blender, Tricky Situations like coloring Reds, Blacks and Whites, Basic Light Sourcing and more!

If you are new to Copic Markers or have played with them for a while but haven’t had any instruction then this is a great class for you!  We only take on a limited number of students for each class so we can give you our fullest attention.

Now for the giveaway!

Please do not enter if you can’t commit to the next class session which runs Oct 29 – Dec 17 (with class access thru Jan 7). We want to give this class spot to someone who wants to be there. To enter tell us below what you would most like to learn or improve on if you took our class.

Deadline to enter is Oct 22. Winner will be notified shortly after the cut off to ensure they are ready to start class on Oct 29.

Good Luck!

If you are interested in taking the class but don’t want to leave your spot up to chance (or a sell out) then you can pop over to Created from Color and register now.

*** GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED! If you’d like to register for our next basic class limited spots are still available. The winner is… Sheila! Congrats!***

Oooh, this is an amazing prize!! I’d love to learn more about coloring clothing. Where to create the folds where there are no folds. And where there are folds, like in a dress, how to determine which are creased to the forefront and which are in the background. I’m probably not using the correct terminology, but you understand what I’m trying to say… lol

    Thanks.

    x0, Damaris

But other techniques I need some help with are:- red, how do you shade red; green leaves, what colours do I use how do I shade to get a life like representation and lastly (only for this list though as I definitely need more help) how do I shade around my image to make it pop – mine always looks more like slop than pop! Cheers Linda

  • Ruza says:

I would love to learn how to color with hair, skin, blacks and light source frustrates me. TY for the chance to win a spot in the class!

  • Patrice says:

First and foremost I really want to learn an easy way to distinguish light source. Everything I read tells me it should be reasonably easy to work out but I have a mental block and it just doesn’t happen for me.

I would love to learn to colour clothing. I have great difficulty getting dimension or even knowing where to put my colour and as such leave the clothing until last and end up ruining what colouring I have done because it ends up in the bin. I think I’m okay with skin and hair.

I’d also love to learn how to colour flowers better. I have a few images I’d love to ink up but tend to avoid colouring them for fear of making a mess.

Thanks for the opportunity – your class sounds fabulous.

  • Alexandra says:

Wow, this would be out of this world!!! I really need help with shading and light!!! I really struggle with where to go with light and dark and keep it uniform if that makes sense. What an awesome thing to win 🙂

  • veronica says:

I would love to learn blending. I have many many copics but I can’t seem to get the hang of blending. I have tried three to four shades of the same color but they still don’t seem to have the flawless blended look to them. So please pick me so I can learn how to blend…. Awesome that you are doing this.
I would also like to learn how to do flesh tones and hair tones. Once again, mine look like crayon coloring and not blended colors.
    Thanks so much
    Veronica

  • maria mendoza says:

  • Kimberli Sarsfield says:

Wow! What an amazing opportunity! I would most like to learn how to color hair. My hair always looks so darn flat and I so admire all of you talented ladies out there who rock the copic hair! My jaw drops everytime I see a before and after student coloring from your class. It is amazing to see the awesome improvement your previous students obtained!

  • Carole Lovill says:

I love my Copics I want to learn everything I can about them. I’d love to be in your class. I’m amazed at some of the images I see colored with the Copics the hair and skin always look so real. I also would love to learn how to blend a color with another totally at the other side of the color wheel. I’m a disabled wife, mother, and grandmother who for 25 + years worked her butt off and now that she can’t is trying to make use of her time, trying to feel worth while without her income. That means I have way more time than money and would love to win this spot, because honestly I don’t think I could pay for it. I’ve bought my copic colors one at a time from Michaels and hobby lobby with 40 to 45% off on every single marker. I live in a rural area where it takes at least 30 mins. To get anywhere. Thank you so much for considering me, oh the last time I counted, I’d accumulated 78 markers. Sincerely, Carole Lovill

  • Kristen says:

    Hi,
I would absolutely love to take this course!!! I would love to improve my skills, and learn more on how to use copics. The before and after images have really amazed me. I really want to be able to color like that.
I told my husband about this class, but I don’t think we would be able to afford it. I am a SAHM wife, who is trying to generate a little bit of income to help. I am going to start blogging about my crafts soon, and I would enjoy blogging about how wonderful this class is, and would reference to your page every time.
So, pretty please pick me!!! ^.^

    Sincerely, Kristen

  • Samantha Briscoe says:

I am new to copics and i find i am struggling with the colour coding and which shades to blend together but i guess that comes from practice. I am used to my promarkers but copics feel different and i can’t blend as well, would love some guidance. Thanks for the give away. I have my fingers, toes and eyes crossed. X

  • April Lopez says:

I want to learn to not be afraid of copics. I bought mine but I’m seriously afraid of messing up. A class would be wonderful. I want to conquer my fear of a pen. I know it’s silly but so am I.

  • Kasey Simmons says:

Thanks for the great giveaway. I would love to learn how to shade skin and hair.

  • Lisa M. (Lisabee) says:

Oh Wow. Just what I need! I think light source and shading is probably my weakest area. I’d love to get some helpful hints on how to improve in these and other areas!

  • Aeryn Kelly-Reitmeyer says:

I am always looking to improve my skills and I really want to learn face contours and proper shading. I have a basic grasp that I guess is my “style” but I really enjoy looking at your images and figuring out how you achieved the depth on the faces and the patterns on the animals. It would be great to have actual instruction instead of just a picture to go on. Thanks for considering me.

    Aeryn

  • Joe says:

Am fairly new to Copic markers and would really like to see how the pros use them. Would like to improve color blending and learn about creating patterns.

Oh wow what an awesome giveaway!

I want to learn new techniques and just learn new things I guess. I have my favourite colour combos and need the assistance/push to try new ones. I love your colouring – it brings things to life.

  • Amy O says:

How about picking color combos to make your image “pop”? For my last few cards, I thought I did a great job coloring, everything matched the paper, etc., but when I put it all together it just didn’t have any “zing.”

  • Kanani says:

I would LOVE to get better about shading and light! What an awesome giveaway!

  • Lori Gauerke says:

Hi, Thank you for the amazing chance to learn more about Copic Coloring. I have a hard time determining where the light source is and where highlights and shadows should be. I end up always having the light source coming from the left…boring!! I have been wanting to take your class but I am not working right now and I almost chose your class over groceries..lol..that’s how addicted I am to my Copics. While I was working I was able to accumulate quite a few markers so I have so much fun coloring every chance I get. Again thank your this amazing giveaway! Hugs, Lori

  • Eleanor C says:

Hello! I have just started colouring with Copics and I absolutely LOVE the effects you can achieve! I would love to learn more so I can keep churning out wonderful cards and other crafts to give to my family and friends. I’m also teaching my 11 year old daughter, Lilli, how to use copics and blend with them. She is enraptured! If I do not win the place in the class, would you please tell me how I can enroll?
Thanks and keep up the GREAT work!
    ~Eleanor

  • Cindy Bushell says:

I am very new to Copics, but am now addicted and have so much to learn!! I have just submitted my first ever card, and would love to use this class to improve quicker. A fantastic way to complete the course, as I am in Australia.

  • Judi Gomez says:

After making thank you cards after my mom passing this May, I wanted to make cards for my favorite charity, Guide Dogs of America. I started watching YouTube videos and learned about Copic markers and found your website. I have purchased every pack of pens at Aaron brothers and now purchasing individual pens one 50% coupon at a time…smile. I purchased the copic idea books and a book on drawing shadows but I still don’t see what I am not doing to give my cards a 3-D/realistic look. My current project is making 12 sets of 12 cards each for my charity to raffle or use in there annual silent auction. The next logic step was to sign up for the class.

  • Jennyfer L says:

Since I am new to copics and I don’t have any training and still sttruggling with these markers, I would love to learn how to “play” with them. I think this class will be perfect for me as this will help me move on to great projects and better coloring.

  • Jennifer S says:

I would love to have a chance to be in a class. There are so many things I would like to improve on – hair, faces, shading of clothing, shadows/shading on flowers.

  • Janina says:

I’ve been drooling over this blog for quite some time now. Keep looking at everyone’s “before” and “AFTER” images. I recently bought a whole lot of Copics ( paid the equivalent of a small car for them) and I would LOVE to learn how to use them better. If I don’t win the spot in this class, I’ll have to save up for AGES to be able to join a next class!

  • Sheila says:

Thank you so much Kristy! I’m so excited that I won and I’m looking forward to the class. Happy birthday again! 🙂
