Blue Bird

click pics to see in gigantoid size

Every had a craving so strong you just couldn’t resist? Yeah. I wanted to draw a bird on Monday lol. Weird, I know. So over about 2 hours while watching Hell’s Kitchen and Master Chef. I sketched and colored the bird above. I updated pics via Instagram hence I got the progression above. Not the greatest pics ever but considering they were by lamp light on my phone I really can’t complain. πŸ™‚Β

Here is a nice scan of the final piece. Sketched with Grey Multipliner and colored with Copics

If you look at the huge size of this image you can see all the sketch lines too.

I heart the bird! Just had to share πŸ™‚

  • Artsy Friday: Throwback Sketch with Copic Markers - The Odd Girl | The Odd Girl says:

[…] The addition of copic markers was added mostly as an after thought. You’re much better off adding the pencil in your art after the markers but that doesn’t always work out when you go at it without a plan. If you’ve done a sketch and want to put your Copics over it, I suggest either sketching with a multiliner or going over the pencil sketch with the multiliner THEN coloring with your markers, that’s what I did with the Bluebird Sketch I did a while back. Wow, your birdy is absolute beautiful! And I know this feeling very well. In most cases the most precious projects are born out of these cravings XD!
Would you be so kind and tell us which shades you used on the bird? I am looking for pleasing blue combinations and found your piece of art! Thank you very much and continue with this beautiful art of yours!

    • Kristy says:

I’m so glad you like it, thank you! I wish I had written it down, this post is from 4 years ago so I’m not 100% sure. The grey’s are Cool greys (Cs) and the blues are from the B0s and B-teens. If I had to make a guess, so you have something to try out, I’d say B000, B00, B02, B14, B16, B18. I’m sorry I don’t have the exact colors for you but I hope those come out well!

      • Franziska says:

Thank you so much for answering my question and for trying reconstruct your color choices! That’s very sweet of you!
Have a beautiful day and thanks again
