A list like that

With a list like that you know there’s things to be done! How do you keep all of your “to dos” organized?

It actually makes me feel better to lay out all of the big things I can think of in a big color grouped list (I need more colors btw). Each of those has to be broke down into the things that have to be done to do it but still. If I leave it all up in my mind it can get overwhelming because it floats hither and nither which can be kind of scary. Making a visual list not only can take the “scary” out of your list but it lets you look at it and I bet you’ll see some items can get checked off really fast which is a good way to get your motor running to tackle the bigger projects.

A few ways I like to keep my To Do organized is…

– my giganto whiteboard. I color code my lists so I know what goes together which sometimes means I can knock them out faster

– clip boards. An oldie but a goodie! I use the clear acrylic ones, 6 in all, to keep order lists, designs and other things grouped together. AND the acrylic boards also can double as little dry erase boards, love the double duty!

– My phone. I have a couple of apps that I LOVE for getting my to dos done! My all time fav right now is Astrid Task (plus the power pack. The basic is free, the power pack is like $2). It lets me sort to dos by category and enter tasks with Voice which is super awesome! You can also set deadlines and reminders to keep you on task. It also has a widget that is always up so I can check things off as I go and the little Octopus mascot guy cheers you on and tells you to go to bed if its late lol. It now also has an online version that works with your phone that I’m going to be playing with 🙂

There’s lots of ways to keep yourself organized. What do you like?

I am definitely a list maker, especially when it comes to work tasks. I write every little thing out, and that way I get more marked off, even those small jobs that become second nature go on the list, that way I can mark them off and feel like I’ve accomplished something!

right with you Jess! I LOVE getting to check things off! On the Astrid app, the little octopus dude will tell you and keep track of how many you’ve checked off and its such a good feeling to see the number grow 🙂 Its the little things eh?
