Paint your background

Hi there, this is Eva from For the Love of Life.  I am so happy to be able to participate in Kristy’s month long Birthday celebration!  What an amazing month this has been so far.  Full of amazing tutorials and talk about fabulous giveaway!

Today I bring you a very easy, yet fun little tutorial to create a customized background.  If you are familiar with Creative Imaginations Luminarte Twinkling H2O’s than you most likely know of this technique, however if you aren’t, than I will have something new to show you.  There are quite a few paper lines out there that have a resist quality to them.  Creative Imaginations, Pink Paislee and Prima have their own lines that you can paint on and get a customized paper.  Let me show you what I did.

As you can see, the items you will need to gather are the resist papers, in this case I used Creative Imaginations  Christine Adolph’s Winter Song Joyful Foil paper, Twinkling H2O’s, a good wide brush and water.

And  all you really have to do is paint your foiled paper and here is what you will end up with.

See how easy that is?  Imagine working with this patterned foil paper and just use different colors to create custom papers for different holidays, or occasion.  Wouldn’t that be fun?  Since my card is about Christmas and I wanted to make it a fun holiday, sort of non traditional, I used green, pink and turquoise.  Here is what my card looks like finished with cute Gifty Gwen.

Well, that is all I have for you.  Hope you enjoyed this quick, and easy tutorial and try it out.  Make sure you look at all the previous post and the future ones, as you don’t want to miss out on  all the fun “how to’s”.

Hugs to you all!

Fantastic idea! I bought a pile of H2O’s off EBay (some used) and have never used them as I’d thought I could colour stamps with them and found them too difficult – I’m so glad they’ll become useful. Thanks,
