Pink {INK} Sketch

Happy Saturday! I’m taking the day off (pretty much except a couple of things) though I don’t know exactly what I should be doing so it might not work out lol. I will probably be cleaning… can I work now?  But today is Challenge day at Pink {INK} and I am the lucky Inky Girl to have supplied this week’s sketch!

There’s some lovely inspiration over there to get your mojo going, Miss Waffle even did a scrapbook LO! Trust me, that’s a big deal right there! 🙂 For my creation I channeled my inner Kellie for a vintagey card.

You see, Kellie sent me, out of the blue mind, some goodies (SMASH BOOK!!! and the cutest Deer-rings) and in the package was a fabulous card. Its up on her blog but for the life of me I can’t find it… maybe she’ll point it out or I’ll get a piccy up. But anyways it was GORGEOUS so I was totally inspired to try my own hand and see what came of it.

Kellies card had butterflies and microbeads that I oooooo and aaaahhhhhhhhhh’d over so I wanted those too. The microbeads ended up a hot mess on my desk, and the floor, little hands popped the lid on the tube and it was a bead explosion! Of course no one did it and I didn’t see who, just the aftermath but oh well. There is another tube around. BTW kids of mine, no the cat can not open a tube, the end is flat to the top with no handle. FYI for future denials. 😉  Papers are from Sassafras Sunshine Broadcast. I paper pieced her dress and put a pop dot just on the bottom part to make it look really poofy. I popped her bow up too. The beads are some vintage trim I’ve had forever from Etsy; white is Studio Calico’s Mister Huey. Sweet Thinkin Mae is stamped with Memento and colored with copics.

Skin: E000, E01, E02, E11, W2, R11, R12
Hair: E93, E95, E97, E99
Eyes: YG91, YG93, YG95

I think I might have ended up too bright to be true vintagey but for me this is really muted 😀 I’ll pop a link to Kellie’s card up as soon as I find it (or take a pic) because its so lovely! Now I shall go contemplate cleaning. Especially the kids room, its a friggin disaster area and I’m watching a girl down the street a couple times a week for the next 3 months. Normally I’d make them do it but I’m not in the mood for the cries of horror at the thought of cleaning even the hint or suggestion would bring about. I’m just going to put on some tunes and get it done! Maybe with time left for gettin crafty if I can manage it 🙂

Have a great weekend!

Beautiful card. Love, love, love those beads. And I think your cartoon people are too cute. Do you draw them yourself or are they stamps? Adorable either way.

    • Kristy says:

Thanks Melody! Yes, they are drawn by me and they’re my stamps. I’m sponsoring Pink {INK} this go 🙂 So glad you like!
