Copic Storage Bag

Today I shot a little video to share about my new Copic Storage! Up front, I hate that I’m on the vid and I’m still not ok with hearing my own voice so look at the bag (which is lovely!) and my crazy cat who would simply NOT stay off my table long enough to shoot this.Β  πŸ˜‰

The video tells and shows about this new bag but I want to share some close up pics too. First off, wonderful and talented Virigina from Geeky and Sassy made me this awesome bag from this lame sketch I emailed her…

I dabble in sewing but I knew from the get go that this was WAY over my head! Luckily where I went “uuuummmmmmm…” Virginia knew exactly what to do! And here is close ups of the fabulous results! First you see the top front view of the bag. The fabric is Oslo Outside. A nice heavy canvas type fabric.

In these 2 pics you can see how the grid/dividers is held in with buttons and elastic. This set up is sturdy and allows everything to come apart if need be for washing and and such. Handy eh?

The front of the bag has a super handy pocket with velcro closure. You can put anything you might need with your copics in here. Paper, ink, etc etc etc.

Virginia even included this cute little tag tied with a ribbon with a sweet message on the back.

I included that one just for eye candy πŸ˜‰

I hope you like and enjoyed!

ETA: Just over a year later I made a change to the bag and took out the grid and inserted 12 of the plastic 36 count copic cases as my markers kept slipping down. It fit the bag PERFECTLY and works a ton better! Here’s a pic from above that you can see the bins

Thanks for checking it out! πŸ™‚

It’s beautiful, I’d love one but I don’t have that many copic sketch markers yet, I’m trying to build up my collection. Enjoy your new bag. Teresa xx

Oh my goodness this is the greatest looking concept.
I love to carry mine with me also and love that it holds so much. You said you cut your grid for the inside. What is that made of?
I bet she is going to get lots of orders with this spectacular idea.
Love your kitty in the video, my black kitty came and watched with me and was entertained…lol
    Thanks for sharing

I talk about it a smidge in the vid (I think… I didn’t want to relisten to it lol) but its just part of the grid that they put over florescent lights in an office. I cut a section 30 squares by 14 squares with my Dremel. πŸ™‚

I love it! I just did the Art Bin trick, but i found a 12 x 6 double din art bin, since i don’t have enough copics for a 12 x 12. I see that your copics are a bit wobbly. It helps to have a second sheet of the grid on the bottom to hold the markers in place. I tried to get away with one layer of the grid, but I found my markers would wobble and slide down and under if there weren’t any around it to keep it in place. I just love that bag!

    • Kristy says:

I was inspired by the bins I’ve seen! They do tilt a little but I really don’t have any problem with them sliding inside. When I pick up the bag they get restraightened each time so its all good πŸ™‚

This is by far the coolest copic storage tote bag I’ve seen yet. I’m interested in making my own. The only part I’m lost on is where to get that plastic grid insert. Any insight?

Thanks for the reply! So… where would I buy it? That’s the part I’m confused about. lol

        • Kristy says:

It depends on where you are but I bought it at Home Depot for about $7. πŸ™‚

Oh my, thank you for bringing this to my attention. I like the way its all laid out, easy to see and looks wonderful organized! *Inspired!*

I must say that I have been throwing around the idea on a kitty for our house. I have a set of parakeets that adore their out of cage time and I am horrified of that “natural instinct” kicking in. I love my birds to death and I do not want to take away their safe fun home. But when their time comes I will be getting my self a little fluffy cat. I like your cat, and no worries the fluffy one kept my eyes off you πŸ™‚ I love how you cat seems to be thinking the whole time “I am so dirty, I need to clean up!! So dirty!”

Just simply gorgeous and very clever. Hugs Sheila. x
