Tuesday To Do – Copic Tut: Paper Testing

Another lil video for today’s Tuesday To Do. I’m still not 100% comfy with listening to my own voice on the playback and keep nit-picking my mis-speaks. There’s a sweet one toward the end if you catch it… totally makes me LOL. Anyway, todays vid is on testing your paper for Copic compatibility. I learned this test when I took the Copic Certification Class and use it when I try new papers. Testing your paper is a great thing to learn especially when you are new to copics as knowing you have a good paper to work with will eliminate alot of those newbie frustrations!

Here’s a closer look at the two papers featured in the video. First is the Staple’s Brand Cardstock

You can see it blended evenly and the spot from the blender pen is cleanly defined. A lil bleed but that might be more my uneven circle drawing skills 🙂

Next is the Michaels Brand Cardstock

This paper is still great for crafting but not so hot for Copic coloring. You can see in my attempt to blend not only did it bleed alot but alot of the darker color was pushed out trying to smooth it. The mark from the blender pen is also less distinct, looking like the color bled back in while it was drying.
