Maybe this is a bit ridiculous but ever since DH said that we could rearrange the office to make my scrap area bigger, THAT IS ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT. I admit, I could use more counter space and the extra space for shelves and storage will be great but just the planning and arranging that is going on in my head is enough to make me giggle and clap my hands like a little kid 🙂 . My counter space will go from a 5x3ft L-shape to a 8×5.5ft L-shape! Drool. No more tripping on myself or piling things I’m using on top of each other. Heck I could even have dd come up and color while I scrap. Can’t really do that right now and that is exactly where she wants to be a table of her own is not “cool” enough I guess. She’s gonna be an artsy one too, I just know it.

But I got off track. Besides the wonderfulness (is that even a word?) of the whole counter thing I will gain more room for my shelves. On the 8ft wall I’m planning on making that my “shelf wall”. I currently have just under 5ft of shelves so I can feasibly add another 3 ft. Trust me, I can spread out a bit and take that extra space right up!

The short wall (if you count 5.5 ft short) is going to have the small section of shelves from the original area and my magnet boards. I’d love to figure out a spot to display some of my finished LO’s but I guess once all the shelves are up I can see what I’ve got to work with. I have seen some really great spaces that have curtain rods with the curtain clips holding LO’s in page protectors and I totally want one. I have a rod I bought for something else that has been collecting dust for about 2 years. It has a use now!!!

I’ve also seen those “racks” that you can clip all your stickers/alphabets on and while I don’t want to take up the counter space I think I just had an idea for a wall mounted one….hum…. I might forgo the extra couple feet of shelf and do what I’m thinking. I’m going to have to take a look around at Home Depot or Lowe’s and see if I can find what I need and for how much 🙂 . Well DH DID say make a list!!!
